first name: Yazmin
who you have for general chemistry: John Hagen
why you chose chem/bchm as your major: chemistry amazes me, but i am also interested in bio, so biochemistry represents a perfect combination. I had a very good chemistry teacher, so i guess that also helped in my tendency towards biochemistry.
your prior experiences with blogging: none really.
brush with fame or death or anything else interesting: took a helicopter ride on grand canyon. Was on stage with David Copperfield. Have a signed free T-shirt and Poster from MGMT :D
I'm Sam
I have John Hager for my Chem lecture, and John Goers for my Chem lab.
I chose Chemistry as my major because, well I'm not sure exactly...in high school I found my AP Chem class very interesting, and my calling is math or science so I figured this would be the college to get into?
Besides myspace and facebook? None.
A few summers ago I was backpacking high up in Sequoia National Park. It was late June or early July, so he slopes that didn't get direct sunlight all day still had heavy amounts of snow on them. As we hiked up, we came to the trail we wanted to take, but it was closed because it was too dangerous. But because my uncle is my uncle, we took it anyway. As we were going, the path was hidden under the snow so we weren't exactly sure where we were supposed to be walking. Lucky for me I have a odd fascination with knives and swords, I collect them. But luckily I was playing with one of my knives because all of a sudden I slipped and lost my footing and went sliding down the slope, heading for the cliff which would have sent me falling 150+ feet to the river below. But since I was holding my knife I jammed it into the snow and it caught on something and stopped me. It's a good thing I wasn't a heavy child. haha
I'm Cory
I'm currently not in a gen chem class, although I am trying to crash into one. (I got a 5 on ap chem, but Dr. Tina Bailey wants me in 127) sooo... nobody as of yet
I chose chemistry because it is everything and it can be so hilariously fun. But I also became good friend with my HS chem teach, and I'm very scientifically oriented, and really it's the first major from which I had a vague idea what was going on.
No prior experience blogging
Johnny Depp has a house near the area where I live... seem him around. I've come face to face with a cougar (out in the woods - not through a cage!)... Almost died on a rafting trip on the upper Rouge River (look it up), luckily it wasn't the lower rouge - a bunch of people died this year on that. Helpful hint: never use a NON-self-bailing raft!
Hi my name is Ryan.

Hey my name is Allie,
I chose chem for my major because it awesome I love the idea of putting elements together and everything in chem just makes sense.

I break a lot of bones. I broke all of my toes at least twice, 12 bones in my wrists and hands and two bones in my legs. I also got strep in Africa and thought that was the end of me. Fame... ehh my cousin was Shwayze's old DJ so me and Shwayze are really close and grab an occasional ice cream. :)
first name:Meghan
who you have for general chemistry: Hagen for lecture, Goers for lab.
why you chose chem/bchm as your major: I took AP chem in high school and it was really interesting, and I always wanted to go into math, science or engineering, so chemistry seemed like a good choice.
your prior experiences with blogging: None
brush with fame or death or anything else interesting: I used to work at a restaurant where John Madden would sometimes come for dinner, and I met Santana at a Raiders game. When it comes to death, I seem to be a step ahead. I've had a few near death experiences, one I was driving way too fast and talking on my phone, and I almost hit a pole. When I was a kid I got hit in the head with pipe and got stitches in my forehead. I climbed rocks on the beach with my friend, and almost drowned/crashed into the cliffs on the beach. I saw a guy drown once in Pismo Beach. I seem to attract danger or trouble often, but it keeps things interesting.

I chose biochemistry as my major because at the time I was applying for colleges I did not know what I wanted to do with my life (really, I still don't). Biochemistry was one option on the scroll-down menu that sounded vague enough not to intimidate me but also specific enough not to bore me. I think that I will change my major, perhaps to physics. I had an amazing AP physics teacher in high school.
I don't blog.
