Tomorrow evening we'll start with our final installment of Meet the Faculty as well as have a loose discussion on the degree and concentration programs in the department. I'll be giving you the assignment I promised you last week and I hope to have a fun activity as well.
This week's questions. Please answer on this blog before class tomorrow:
a) What is your favorite class this quarter? (Just because you're in this major does not obligate you to say a CHEM class).
b) How many other CHEM/BCHM majors do you know so far, roughly?
c) What is one of your guilty pleasures (a song, movie, TV show, etc you are embarrassed to admit you like)?

a) Math 142. Mostly because it is one of my few classes that I don't take in three-hour blocks, or have in stuffy lecture halls with around 100 other people. And I like calculus.
b) roughly, seven or eight.
c) South Park. I don't ever watch tv but every friday night I end up spending at least a couple hours online watching South Park episodes. That show rocks my world.
a)Spanish 122. I love languages and im actually good at it
b) a few....whats the definition of "know"
c)The Hills/Laguna Beach/The O.C....I like mindless TV it allows me to unwind and not think for at least a little while
a) My favorite class this quarter would be Coms 101 because I have learned a lot this quarter and I am becoming more confident in myself and in my public speaking!!!
b) I know about ten to twelve other chem/bchem majors.
c) I love to sing in the shower! Even though I am terrible!
a) Chem is definitely my favorite class, even though it's also the hardest. I hate my public speaking class and my calc class is too easy.
b) maybe like ten or twenty?? I dont really know... I live in the COSAM dorm so it's pretty easy to meet people that way
c) HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL!! :)
a) I really like my psychology 201class. My professor is really funny and entertaining.
b) I know about 10-12 people.
c) I like stupid tv like America's Next Top Model and Project Runway. I also like Disney movies.
a)does chem 101 count? lol. i'd probably have to say chem lab. i like getting my hands a little dirty.
b)i've met 15 or so, but i'd say i only know two and one is a roommate.
c)eating chocolate. i literally eat two or more lbs a week when i am stressed
a) Aside from CHEM 101 OF COURSE, i have to say calc 2 (math 142).
i looooooooove math, and my teacher is a freakin stud.
b) plenty, our chem class has 20 plus, right?
c) "punk" songs from the early 2000's.

Not really my favorite class but my easiest and therefore my 'best' class is Calc 2, I've learned it all already with problems twice as hard... so ya
I've met dozens... yet I can't remember any names... or faces...

a) English 134. I have a really good teacher, and we spend most of our time writing as opposed to reading, which I really enjoy.
b) Probably about 10 or so.
c) My Chemical Romance. Im embarrassed to admit it, but I do like their music. And horror movies, I absolutely love them. House of 1000 Corpses and the Blair Witch Project are two of my favorites, even though most people think they're terrible movies.
a) I'm going to sound totally nerdy, but I actually really like Chem 127. That may be because I've already seen all the stuff we're doing now so I understand everything up to this point, but I also really do enjoy Chemistry.
b) Uuuummmmm I know maybe two or three, but they're just people I've sort of met randomly and talked to maybe once or twice.
c) Chocolate is my weakness. So are boy bands.
a) Chem 127 is actually my favorite class this quarter. Not like public speaking isn't extremely fun or anything...
b) Hmm..a few.
c) America's Next Top Model. I don't know why I watch it..but I do.
a) Math 141 because the class is short and the professor is pretty cool.

c)White christmas is my favorite movie. I have watched that movie in July before

a) I really do find my chem class interesting, because I learned a lot of it in high school, but now I understand the reasoning behind everything.
b) I'd say 4 or 5.
c) Ummm...I like to get pedicures. haha
a. english 134. instead of of reading books for getting writing prompts, my class watches movies that students pick and we write essays. we got t watch boondock saints already and are going to watch fight club.
b. id say somewhere around 15.
c. john and kate plus 8. i dont know why but whenever its on i cant take my eyes off of t.

a) um...Psych 202 discussion because the teacher is nice, I am not crammed in a tiny hot room breathing everyone's CO2, and we have good discussions.
b) i haven't counted..i've met at least ten probably.
c) Psych, Monk, and House...whenever I'm on vacation and need to be doing homework, one of these always manages to have a marathon and I can't tear myself away.

c) The Lion King!! That movie rocks my world, and I still cry everytime when Mufasa dies! (I've already watched it twice since school has started)
a)math 141, it just goes by so quickly and its in a good time in the day so i don't feel sleepy

a.) well i would have to say that chem is because of the stuff we are learning but its way more work so i like my calculus class becuase the work load isnt as much.
b.) met probably like 6 only know like 1
c.) im kinda a fan of the dixie chicks because of my mom but i dont usually get embarrassed so i dont think its that big of a deal
a) so far chem is my favorite class, simply because of the lab. reading about chem is nice and all but the application of it is where the fun is.
